Marleen Morris
President

As President of Marleen Morris & Associates, Marleen Morris provides counsel to and works closely with senior staff and board members from government, crown corporations, business and the non-profit sector. She helps organizations understand their environment, see clearly where they want to go, and supports them in getting there. Her areas of expertise include strategic planning, research, consultation, facilitation, governance and leadership development.

In her 25-year career, Marleen has held executive and senior management positions organizations in the health, the post-secondary and housing development sectors. She is known for combining her insightful analysis, her ability to see the big picture, and an understanding of all three levels of government, with a creative and commonsense approach to getting things done.

Marleen has been appointed to several senior governance positions including BC Housing, where she was Chair of the Governance Committee; BC Winter Games; Vancouver City Planning Commission; United Way of the Lower Mainland; and the North Vancouver Chamber of Commerce. Her experience in both executive and governance roles enables her to provide value-added insight to address the challenges and complexities facing organizations today.

Marleen is a graduate of Oxford University in England and HEC Paris where she earned her MSc (Management).

 

Jennifer Hall
Senior Consulting Associate

Jennifer has expertise in research, strategic planning and facilitation. Her experience includes superior qualitative research design, implementation and analytical skills, as well as writing skills and project management.

Jennifer joined Marleen Morris & Associates after working internationally for large multi-national organizations where she was responsible for developing and managing stakeholder relations and corporate citizenship programs.

 

Clare Mochrie
Research Associate

Clare is a professional researcher with experience working locally and internationally in the areas of health and sustainability planning, labour and employment, social impact assessment, housing and community economic development. She has worked with a range of clients and partners in the public, private and non-governmental sectors.

Clare offers a rich set of skills in research, program evaluation, policy analysis, project management, communications, impact assessment and facilitation. Clare holds a Masters degree in Planning from the School of Community and Regional Planning at the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University.            

 

Nicola Underdown
Research Associate

UK–based Nicola Underdown is a consulting associate with Marleen Morris & Associates advising and developing an international understanding of regional development policy and delivery.

Nicola has worked closely with the Regional Development Agencies in the UK as the National Coordinator for the Association of Regional Observatories. Her experience includes involvement in strategic negotiations over statutory roles and funding for the implementation of Government policy. She successfully lobbied on behalf of represented organizations for changes, which included the production of policy briefings and the submission of legislative amendments.

She has built close working relationships with senior level officers of central government departments and national agencies, ensuring policy objectives were achieved. Nicola is also an energetic and enthusiastic researcher and presenter.

 

Peter Robinson
Graphic Designer

Peter Robinson brings over fifteen years of local and international graphic design experience to Marleen Morris & Associates. His expertise includes brand and visual identity development, print design, illustration and photo retouching, as well as website design and Flash animation. Peter takes an inclusive approach to design, working closely with clients to understand their needs and ensure they are involved in the design process. Recognizing the importance of the research phase of a design project, Peter applies both creative and strategic skills to create successful designs. Originally from England, Peter was educated at Exeter University, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Geography and Media Studies. He also holds a postgraduate Certificate of Education from St. Luke's College at Exeter University.
